Jasmine Baskerville- Beauty in the eyes of the beholder

Beauty and the Beast is a children’s fantasy story about a young beautiful woman falling for a beast who is unattractive. But later on, she learns to go further than skin deep and finds beauty in a physically ugly creature. This story shows to prove that there are different types of beauty. There is the erotic beauty, inner beauty, natural beauty, limitless beauty, dark beauty, etc. “Beauty surrounds us, but usually we need to be walking in a garden to know it” –Rumi. This quote means is that anything can be beautiful if we pay attention or change our perspective. In class, there was a video clip of man describing the beauty in a floating plastic bag. Normally, other people would not see it. However, he had a spiritual connection to that experience that was beautiful for him. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.
