Jasmine Baskerville- Inner femininity expressed through symbol

The triple moon is a femininity symbol and it is also called the triple goddess. It is a symbol associated with inner female beauty. Visually it looks like a waxing moon, full moon, and waning moon combined. The symbol can be “found atop crowns and head-pieces, particularly worn by High Priestesses” (crystallinks). Many believe this symbol is associated with the wiccan religion, but it is not necessarily. This symbol is not religious. The story behind this symbol is that the moon phases represent three female figures the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone, “each of which symbolizes both a separate stage in the female life cycle” (wiki).
The Maiden represents enchantment, inception, expansion, the promise of new beginnings, birth, youth and youthful enthusiasm, represented by the waxing moon; The Mother represents ripeness, fertility, sexuality, fulfilment, stability, power and life represented by the full moon; The Crone represents wisdom, repose, death, and endings represented by the waning moon.(wiki)

With the media portraying unrealistic expectations of women it is easy to not see all the positive reasons why it is so good to be a woman in this time. Many women have criticism and hate for themselves. It is hard for women to accept everything about themselves with societal influences. We are smart, astounding. beautiful, authentic, courageous, empowering, flawless, and etc even if we don’t know it yet. There are no limits to what is possible for us to accomplish, in each of our own ways we are a goddess. That is the message I got from the triple goddess symbol.
