Jasmine Baskerville-Rabindranath Tagore.

"By plucking her petals, you do not gather the beauty of the flower"- Rabindranath Tagore.

This quote means that by removing the petals you remove the beauty of the flower assuming it has no intrinsic beauty. Petals by themselves can’t compare to the magnificence of the flower once they are removed. When removing the petals, you might hold the quintessence of the beautiful flower for a reduced amount of time but you will never hold the beauty. Humans want to pass into beauty, to own it, or to consume it. But if we do we are no longer appreciating the beauty we are destroying it. We cannot own the beauty because true beauty is impossible outside of the flower.
