Shane and Shane's Psalms 46

In analyzing Shane and Shane’s interpretation of Psalms 46 to Van der Leeuw, Kant, and Heidegger’s viewpoints on art, it is evident to me that music does have a purpose of achieving. By consistently listening to their song, I am always reminded of the beauty of being in a relationship with God because the song imitates the emotions of His power, protection, and providence. Also, it helps me a feel content and at peace with my present circumstances. Furthermore, in taking Search for Beauty, I understand better various forms of art (music, paintings, dance, etc.). Specifically, doing the presentation project and writing about Shane and Shane’s interpretation of Psalms 46, have shown me how much I value music compared to other art forms. Music reminds me the most of God’s beauty and contributes to the overall experience of my quiet times, in which I journal and pray. Music helps me to achieve my desire of being closer to God.
